Mr. Hussein was executed for the killings of 148 men and boys in the northern town of Dujail in 1982.As Saddam’s hanging underscored, Iraqis are doing things their way. So maybe it’s time to get out of their way.As news of Saddam Hussein’s hanging spread through the Arab world, the execution proved just as profound for what it did not change as for what it did.From all we know of the preparations, Saddam’s death was a miserable and lonely one, as stark and undignified as Iraq’s new rulers could devise.
